PCM Company is seeking a seasoned Cost Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project cost estimation and ensuring that client needs are met, with support from our internal team as needed. You will collaborate closely with the firm's principals/owners, estimators, assistant estimators, and support staff. Additionally, you will work directly with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to prepare, present, and discuss detailed project estimates, as well as manage all ongoing estimating requirements throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires leveraging extensive knowledge of construction processes to provide accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
Project and Client Management: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of the estimating process for assigned projects while interacting with clients to ensure their needs are met.
Collaboration: Working closely with the company's principals, owners, estimators, assistant estimators, and support staff, as well as external parties like subcontractors and vendors.
Estimating Expertise: Providing detailed and accurate project estimates, analyzing project costs, and reviewing them with clients to ensure transparency.
Follow-Through: Taking responsibility for all aspects of the estimating process, from initial estimation to project completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Construction Knowledge: Experience and knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and labor costs to create precise and comprehensive estimates.

Weekly check-ins to discuss upcoming projects/assignments.
Compiling and editing estimates, reviewing takeoff completed by others, and pricing of estimates. Some takeoff may be required depending on project.
Perform peer reviews of estimates completed by others.
Participation in assigned project meetings as required by the project/team including by not limited to design review meetings, reconciliation meetings, estimate presentation meetings.
Solicit subcontractor/vendor pricing as required (limited).
Client communication and management on assigned projects.
Training and mentoring of assistant estimators and entry level employees as required.
Participation in marketing efforts as it pertains to projects you may be proposed on (review of resumes, technical approach, etc. compiled for response to RFP/Q). Limited participation in interviews as requested by the project team.

Able to assemble detailed and accurate cost estimates with varying levels of information
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Proficient in Construction estimating/takeoff software programs (On Center preferred)
Strong organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively interface with clients
Work effectively as an individual and as an integral part of a team
