PCM prepared a schematic level cost estimate of two train station options and the sitework to redevelop the existing station in Buffalo, NY. The two options were 4,600 sq. ft. each. One option utilized pre-cast exterior walls with extensive curtainwall systems and large overhang. The other option utilized an upgraded/decorative precast wall assembly. Both options included budgets for MEP’s and had upgraded interior finishes including terrazzo flooring. The buildings represented about 35% of the project budget. The site improvements included revitalizing approximately 3 acres of the existing site. A temporary station/track will be provided. The existing historic steel canopy will be disassembled, lead remediated, restored, refinished and reinstalled. A custom fabricated canopy will be constructed to match the historic canopy. Approximately 1,500 lf of new platform and track will be installed with extensive retaining walls. Approximately 10,000 cy of fill material was estimated to bring the site to grade. The budget included $800K+ for site retaining/seat walls. Nearly $700K was included for installing ~60,000 sq. ft. of stamped concrete. Separate from the budget estimate, PCM prepared a breakdown of the labor costs that each trade union is estimated to be responsible for.
